In the bid to re-establish its strong hold in the politics of Abia State, the Ukwa West Local Government Area chapter of the Orji Uzor Kalu, OUK, Movement held a crucial meeting at Obehie, and resolved to work assiduously towards keeping the flag of the Movement flying in their area.
Speaking during the meeting which held at the residence of the LG Chairman, Chief Bartholomew Onwukwe in Obehie, the State Secretary, Barrister Sam Ogbonna, JP, reassured the members that there would surely be light at the end of the tunnel, adding that the present economic situation should not discourage them. He expressed confidence that Senator Orji Uzor Kalu would neither forget nor abandon his people, and urged them to be resilient, dedicated and faithful.
In his own speech, the Chairman of Ukwa West OUK Movement, Chief Bartholomew Onwukwe expressed profound gratitude to Senator Orji Uzor Kalu for having the interest of the people of Ukwa West at heart and assured him of their continued loyalty and support, stressing that they were committed towards ensuring that the body grows from strength to strength .

He charged the members to go to their various Wards and ignite the light which, according to him, had faded over time.
In their various speeches, the Coordinator of all Coordinators, who is from Obokwe Ward, Elder Joel Ugorji and the Women Leader from Obuzor Ward, Mrs Patricia Nnah showered encomium on the Founder, Senator Kalu, who they described as a beacon of hope. They assured of their absolute determination and resolve to ensure that OUK Movement is a household pro-group in Ukwa West.
The members extolled the Senator for his effective representation in the Senate, adding that they would stand by him at all times. They appealed to the Senator to remember them during the coming yuletide as their hope is anchored on him, despite the fact that he is not representing their zone but have implicit confidence in his generosity and prayed for God’s continued guidance and protection upon his life and his entire family.
