The Leader of Ipu West chapter of the Labour Party, LP, in the Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State, Mr. Philemon Asonye Ogbonna on Saturday joined other supporters of the presidential candidate of the party, Peter Obi, to stage a one million man march in Ukwa.
The solidarity march which started at Obehie, the commercial nerve centre of Ukwa saw the teeming ‘Obidients’ walk through adjoining villages like Ikpokwu, Obiga, Umudobia and Ezendioma.
Speaking to Newsportal on the sideline during the event, Ogbonna said the people of Ukwa were ready and willing to give their support to Obi and Dr. Alex Otti, the gubernatorial candidate of the party in Abia State.
He expressed confidence in the ability of the duo to give Nigeria and Abia State the direction they need at this moment of the country’s history, stressing that people of Abia State, particularly Ukwa West, have suffered so much due to the maladministration of Governor Okezie and the leadership of the Abia State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The Port Harcourt based Chartered Accountant and Businessman appealed to Abians to come out enmasse to vote for Otti and the LP in the forthcoming general elections.
Ride on people
