The Abia State Secretary of the OUK Movement, Barrister Sam Ogbonna, has charged members to be more dedicated to the activities of the organisation.
Ogbonna, who gave the charge in a meeting he held with the members of the Movement at Akwete, in Ukwa East Local Government Area of Abia State, on Saturday, encouraged them to be dogged.
He admonished them to abhor anything that would be an impediment to the ideals of the OUK Movement in the local government.
The State Secretary described the Founder and their Principal, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu as a promise keeper, adding that his political sagacity, political audacity and business acumen are incomparable.
While extolling the Coordinator, Ukwa East chapter of the Movement, Sir Ferdinand Onyemachi for his steadfastness, he assured that no devoted member would go unrewarded.
Speaking earlier, the Local Government Coordinator, Onyemachi expressed profound gratitude to Senator Orji Uzor Kalu whom he described as the best friend of the people of Ukwa, which he demonstrated during his tenure as the Governor of Abia State.
He said Kalu had written his name in gold and promised that the Members of OUK Movement, Ukwa East would not let him down. He added that despite the fact that Senator Orji Uzor Kalu is not representing their Senatorial zone, he has shown love to them by ensuring that his sheep do not scatter and go astray.
In their separate remarks, the Local Government Women Leader, Mrs Grace Chinedu Wilson and the Akwete- Ohandu Ward Coordinator, Steady Nnadozie Richard and others expressed praised Kalu for not allowing the OUK Movement to go into extinction in their area.
Mrs Wilson recounted how she was taunted during the 2023 Federal and State elections simply because she wore the insignia of OUK but heaved a sigh of relief for the presence of the State Secretary Barr. Sam Ogbonna who came to reassure them that Distinguished Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has not forgotten them. The people thanked Senator Kalu for his magnanimity and assured him that they would remain patient, steadfast and unmovable no matter the circumstances and pleaded that they be remembered during this yuletide especially during the distribution of essential commodities to his Constituents.
In a vote of thanks by one of the dedicated members of the Movement, Engr. Brown Azubuike who could not hold back his joy, said that he would not toy with anything that concerns OUK Movement and extended his heartfelt gratitude to Senator Orji Uzor Kalu through the State Secretary and prayed God to continue to protect and bless Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.
The State Secretary was accompanied by the Coordinator of OUK Movement, Ukwa West, Chief B.I.A. Onwukwe.
