World Bank Consultant, Oliver Nwuju Embarks On Media Campaign For Peaceful Electioneering By Political Candidates In Ukwa West

World Bank Consultant, Dr. Oliver Nwuju, has launched a peace campaign, “One Ukwa, One People, One Future,” urging political candidates contesting the 2027 elections in Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State to embrace peaceful, issue-based electioneering.

The media campaign is aimed at promoting unity, responsible political engagement and peaceful competition among candidates and their supporters ahead of the 2027 elections.

In his message to political candidates in Ukwa West, Nwuju said the primary objective of seeking elective office should be to improve the lives of the people and contribute to the development of Ukwa.
According to him, the progress, unity and prosperity of Ukwa should remain the priority of all political actors, regardless of their political affiliations.

“We may belong to different support camps, but we are one people with a common heritage and common identity. Let us engage with ideas, not insults; debate policies, not persons. Let our competition be healthy, peaceful and issue-based.”

Nwuju further stressed that healthy political competition should not be viewed as a threat, but as a strength.

He urged candidates to avoid personal attacks and actions capable of undermining peace and unity in Ukwa West during the electioneering period.

The World Bank Consultant called on all political stakeholders to prioritize the future of the younger generation.
“Our children must have a better future,” he said.

He urged the people of Ukwa to choose vision over sentiment, capacity over popularity, integrity over empty promises and service over self interest.
