The Commissioner representing Abia State on the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Eruba Dimgba has called for the setting up a reconciliation committee to get all members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State fully prepared for the forthcoming general elections in 2027.
Dimgba made this call on Wednesday at his country home in Umuaka, Ukwa West during a strategic meeting of the stakeholders of the party.
He noted that it was the first major stakeholders’ meeting after the party congresses, which according to him recorded huge success and positioned the APC to tackle the upcoming political challenges.
The NDDC Commissioner disclosed that the APC is determined to work earnestly to ensure that the seat of power at Umuahia is taken over by the party. He also said the Abia State APC had adopted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term, stressing that there was need for party members to work harder to increase the chances of Mr. President winning overwhelmingly in Ukwa West Local Government Area.

He pointed out that the party has the numerical strength and grassroots support needed to make a significant impact in future elections in the area.
A major highlight of the meeting was the nomination of ten stakeholders in each of the ten Wards in the local government area, aimed at strengthening party structure and coordination at the grassroots level.
Prominent party leaders who attended the meeting included: former Chief Whip, Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Tony Mezie Nwubani, former Abia State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Chief Don Ubani, former Abia South Senatorial candidate, Mr. Signor Kanu, former Chairman, Abia State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ASOPADEC), Barrister Sam Nwogu, former Sole Administrator, ASOPADEC, Barrister Henry Chilaka and Abia State APC Treasurer, Chief John Ajuzieogu.
Others were; former Executive Chairmen of Ukwa West, Chief Sylvanus Nwaji and Chief Okey Kanu, former Assistant Secretary, Abia State APC, Engr. Sterling Uruakpa, former House of Assembly candidate, Daberechi Ihenko, Zonal Legal Adviser, Barrister Sam Ogbonna, Barrister Levi Isiguzo and President General of Asa Development Union (ADU), Elder Goodluck Nwanneakolam Nwuju.
