Former ASOPADEC Boss Henry Chilaka Says He Will Declare Soon For House of Assembly After Consultations With Stakeholders

Former Sole Administrator of the Abia State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ASOPADEC), Barrister Henry Chilaka, has stated that he would soon declare his intention to contest for the House of Assembly in the 2027 elections after consulting with critical stakeholders of the Ukwa West All Progressives Congress (APC).

Chilaka, who stated this during an interview with journalists in his country home at Ugwati, Asa South Ward of Ukwa West Local Government Area, on Tuesday, disclosed that he has been under immense pressure by his family, friends and associates to contest for the Ukwa West State Constituency seat in the House of Assembly in the next general elections.

He said that it was obvious that the pressure on him to contest arose from the recommendations of the Asa Think Tank, a Committee set up by the Asa Development Union (ADU), that the House of Assembly seat is zoned to the Asa Group, where he comes from.

The former Sole Administrator expressed optimism that the APC will win the elections in Ukwa West Local Government Area.

Henry Chilaka was a two-term Sole Administrator of ASOPADEC. He is a profound stakeholder in the Asa project.

While in government, Chilaka succeeded in empowering many Ukwa West sons and daughters in many spheres of human endeavours. He is a firm advocate that an Ukwa West son should represent Ukwa East/Ukwa West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives in 2027.
