Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has gifted two outgoing Security Chiefs Prado Jeeps to show appreciation for the good works they did while they served in the FCT.
He also applauded them for their collaborative efforts in making sure that the FCT is safe.
The Minister doled out the gifts during the send-forth dinner which was held in honour of the two security chiefs, Benneth Igwe who was the immediate past Commissioner of Police FCT and now promoted to the Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG, and Ado Muazu who was the former FCT State Director of DSS, and now promoted to the rank of Assistant Director General of the Department of State Services.
Wike commended the two officers for working relentlessly to make sure that FCT residents are safe.
“These two officers have done an outstanding job securing lives and properties in the FCT. We are here today to celebrate and give thanks to God that these individuals, through their hard work and commitment have been promoted.”
“You worked relentlessly to keep FCT safe, I know, as a Minister, the security reports I get every day. Even Nigerians, even FCT people know”, he said.
The Minister futher hinted that there is no country in the world where there is no crime, adding that even the most developed countries struggle every minute and every hour of the day to combat crime.
“Even the most developed countries, every second, every minute, every hour, every day, one crime or the other is committed.
“What you have put in place, the efforts you make to combat crime. You know what Nigerians are telling. When crime happens somewhere, they forget all the other wars you have been able to stop. Nobody wants to say you have done well”, he said.
Earlier, the newly appointed Assistant Inspector General of Police, Benneth Igwe on behalf of himself and the newly Assistant Director General of Department of State Services, Ado Muazu, expressed gratitude to both the FCT Minister and the FCT Administration for recognising their efforts.
