A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Hon. Ezedinachi Kanu, has praised the efforts of the Commissioner representing Abia State on the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Chief Eruba Dimgba for repositioning the party in Ukwa West Local Government Area.
Speaking during a meeting held in his country home at Ikpokwu, Asa in Ukwa West, on Monday, Kanu said:
“Without mincing words, since Eruba came into the party, the shape and nature of the party has changed”
He said that it had become very clear that the APC in Ukwa West would win subsequent elections, as many more people with high electoral value have joined the party.
Kanu, who urged members of the party to be strong, assured the NDDC Commissioner as the leader of the party in the area that he would not be disappointed.
He implored the Commissioner to have the people of Ozar group in Ukwa West at the back of his mind for a position in the South East Development Commission, SEDC, which bill was recently signed into law by the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Also speaking, the NDDC Commissioner, Eruba said:
“This is a renewed APC. I will not take this crowd for granted. I have come to be part of your meeting because we are one”.
He encouraged the party faithfuls to continue to be in the APC, adding, “Very soon, there will be local government elections. Please, get your voter’s card and be committed to the party”.
The Commissioner said the APC was prepared to match any other political party in Ukwa West on all fronts.
The highlight of the meeting was the handing of the party’s emblem, the broom, to new members.
Prominent among those who attended the meeting were former member, Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Mezie Nwubani, immediate past Chairman of Ukwa West LGA, Okey Kanu, State Asst. Secretary, APC, Engr. Sterling Uruakpa, Zonal Women Leader, Mrs Enyioko, Ukwa West APC Chairman, Elder Kenneth Uju Nwarie, Ozar Ukwu Ward Chairman, Levi Dike, Ozar West Ward Chairman, Ishmael Nnah and Sir Bright Agu.
Others were Chief of Staff to the NDDC Commissioner, Ubani Ogbonna, Steve Adindu Nwankwo, Moses Enyioko, Chima Koko, Nkemdirim Onyeike and ThankGod Ntaku.
