The Director General of Dozie Ukwa Campaign Council, Hon. Ezedinachi Kanu has expressed joy over the inclusion of the name of Barrister Nnadozie Okpokiri among candidates contesting for the Ukwa East/Ukwa West Federal Constituency seat in the forthcoming elections.
It should be recalled that the name of Okpokiri was missing when the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, published its final list of candidates vying for various elective positions in the February/March, 2023 general elections.
Kanu commended INEC for complying, without delay, with the order of the Federal High Court sitting in Umuahia that directed that Okpokiri’s name be included in its final list.
He thanked all those who showed genuine concerns while the unfortunate incident lasted, adding that Okpokiri would put smiles on the face of all Ukwa people if he is elected into the Green Chamber.
He also appealed to the sons and daughters of Ukwa land to vote for competence, integrity and forthrightness, stressing that only the compassionate person can advance the genuine cause of his people.
Kanu reiterated the fact that the APC candidate was the most qualified among all the contestants for the Ukwa Federal Constituency seat.
