The Premier Mayor of Ukwa West Local Government Area, Mr. Newman Azu, has encouraged residents and business owners in the area to take advantage of the financial services provided by WeBank MFB to expand and strengthen their businesses.
WeBank MFB recently opened its head office at 7 Duru Street, Off Eziokwu Market, Aba, in Aba.
In a statement released on Monday, Azu urged traders, entrepreneurs, and small business owners in Ukwa West Local Government Area to open accounts with the microfinance bank to improve their chances of accessing business loans and other financial support services.
According to Azu, access to credit facilities remains essential for the growth and sustainability of small and medium-scale enterprises. He noted that many businesses struggle to expand due to a lack of financial backing.
Azu stated that his appeal was based on his understanding that WeBank MFB offers flexible loan terms and conditions that are business-friendly and designed to support entrepreneurs rather than burden them financially. He also expressed confidence that the bank would provide customers with professional financial advice capable of helping business owners stabilise and grow their ventures exponentially.
The former Mayor further revealed that during his time in office, he observed that many residents of Ukwa West Local Government Area possess strong entrepreneurial drive and determination but lack the financial resources needed to invest in different types of businesses.
