The Commissioner representing Abia State on the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Eruba Dimgba has reiterated that All Progressives Congress APC members in Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State would support all the party’s candidates in the 2027 general elections.
Dimgba made the declaration on Monday while receiving the member representing Ukwa East/Ukwa West Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Chris Nkwonta and his entourage in his country home at Umuaka, Ukwa West. Nkwonta had visited to formally declare his intention to seek re-election ahead of the 2027 general election before APC stakeholders in Ukwa West.
The NDDC Commissioner assured that the party in Ukwa West would support any person that emerges as its candidate for the House of Representatives in 2027, adding that APC would not tolerate any form of anti-party activities.
In his speech, Nkwonta appealed to Ukwa West APC stakeholders to support him for a second term, stressing that it would enable him consolidate on the legislative foundation he has laid at the National Assembly.
He highlighted that lack of budget releases for the 2025 and 2026 fiscal years negatively affected the execution of constituency projects and the fulfillment of some of his campaign promises to the people of Ukwa Federal Constituency.
The federal lawmaker, however, stated that he was able to carry out some developmental projects across a few communities in Ukwa East and Ukwa West from the 2024 budget release that was made.
