The Executive Chairman of Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State, Pastor Dike Briggs Nwankwo, has urged the Techrise Cohort 3 beneficiaries to embrace hard work, self-reliance and continuous learning as pathways to success.
Nwankwo stated this while receiving beneficiaries of the Techrise Cohort 3 programme who paid him an appreciation visit.
According to a press release dated September 3, 2026, by the Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Chairman, Chidi Gift Onyedikachi, the Chairman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to human capital development, noting that the Techrise programme was part of deliberate efforts to equip young people in the local government area with relevant skills and create opportunities for them to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
He disclosed that the Ukwa West Local Government Council had committed substantial resources towards the success of the programme, which has so far provided digital skills training for 130 vibrant youths from the Local Government Area.
The Executive Chairman challenged the beneficiaries to go beyond acquiring certificates by continually developing their skills, creating value and seeking opportunities to deploy their knowledge.
He also urged the beneficiaries to support the re-election of the Governor and other Labour Party candidates, noting that sustained support for the administration would help preserve and expand the programmes and opportunities being provided to the people.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, the Coordinator of the Techrise Cohort 3 Programme, Bethel Chinemerem Onochie, expressed appreciation to the Executive Chairman for the opportunity, saying the training had exposed the participants to contemporary digital skills and broadened their knowledge and understanding of the digital economy.
Onochie assured the Mayor that the beneficiaries would build on the knowledge acquired during the programme and apply their skills in ways that would make them useful to themselves and contribute to the development of Ukwa West Local Government Area.
