The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ukwa West State Constituency, High Chief Sylvanus Nwaji, has called for unity, progress and collective victory ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Nwaji made the call on Wednesday at his country home in Obuzor, Asa, Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State, during the formal flag-off of his campaign for the Ukwa West State Constituency seat.
According to a statement released by his Media Team on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, Nwaji expressed confidence in his preparedness, capacity and determination to win the 2027 election. He also pledged to work towards the victory of other APC candidates in Ukwa West Local Government Area, stressing the importance of unity within the party ahead of the general elections.
The House of Assembly hopeful described himself as the candidate to beat in the contest for the Ukwa West State Constituency seat, saying his decision to seek public office was not driven by personal financial interests.
Nwaji said he was already comfortable and had no intention of using public resources meant for the people of Ukwa West for his personal benefit. He reaffirmed his commitment to serving the people of Ukwa and promoting development across the constituency.
According to him, the people of Ukwa have suffered significant setbacks under successive administrations in Abia State.
A major highlight of the campaign flag-off was the announcement of the Abia APC Zonal Legal Adviser, Chief Samuel Ogbonna, Esq., as Director-General of the Nwaji Campaign Organisation.
The event attracted APC leaders and stakeholders, ward executives, party members, political leaders, members of the Divine Project Movement, supporters of High Chief S. U. Nwaji from various wards, as well as other well-meaning sons and daughters of Ukwa West.
Prominent among those who attended the occasion were; the NDDC Commissioner, Dr. Eruba Dimgba, Chairman, Ukwa West APC Stakeholders, Sir Don Ubani, former Executive Chairman, Ukwa West LGA, Chief Okey Kanu, Comrade Ifeanyichukwu O.P, Chief Ikechukwu Mmemme, Comrade Noah Martins and Chief Chidiebere Iheme.
