The family of the late Chief Ronald Anyamele, former Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ukwa East Local Government Area of Abia State, on Saturday received APC stakeholders who paid a condolence visit to the family.
Late Chief Ronald Anyamele, aged 76, was one of the leading lights of the APC in Ukwa East. He was born on December 26, 1950, in Ohambele, Ukwa East Local Government Area of Abia State. He had his primary, secondary and tertiary education in different parts of Nigeria and was an alumnus of the University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Speaking on his life and contributions to the party, the Vice Chairman of Ukwa East APC, Mr. Samuel Emutchay, and the Chairman of Ikwueke East Ward of the party, Sir Christian Nwankwo, described the late Anyamele as a dedicated APC member who believed in doing things right and demonstrated commitment to the party.
Speaking on behalf of the APC candidate for the Ukwa East/Ukwa West Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections, Chief Samuel Okezie Nwogu, Esq., a critical APC stakeholder in Ukwa West, Hon. Exedinachi Kanu said the candidate sent him and other members of the delegation to identify with the family during their period of grief.
According to Kanu, the delegation came to offer their condolences and “join the living to mourn the dead.”
Michael Ikechi Anyamele, the deceased’s son, thanked the APC and its stakeholders for the support extended to the family since his father’s death.
Among those who attended the condolence visit and burial ceremony were Chief William Nwanguma and Chief ThankGod Ntaku, who represented one of the leaders of the APC. Sir Marc Wabara; Hon. Emeka Kingsley; Comrade Chimezie Ukaegbu; Chief Dominic Oforji; and Mr. Lyte Enwereuzor.
Others included members of the Ndoki Council of Chiefs, Mr. Christopher Nnah and Chief Success Akara.
