Desirous of improving security in his Local Government Area, Ukwa West, the Secretary-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, Abia State Chapter, Pastor Innocent Adiele, on Wednesday held a strategic meeting in his hometown, Omuma Uzor with members of the Abia Vigilante Service (AVS) deployed to Ukwa West.
Speaking during the meeting, Pastor Adiele commended the vigilante operatives for their dedication and commitment to maintaining peace and security in the local government area. He said his decision to engage with the security personnel was informed by the belief that security is a collective responsibility, and stressed the need to encourage those at the forefront of protecting local communities.
According to him, improved security is essential for the socio-economic development of Ukwa West, noting that residents who depend largely on farming can only carry out their daily activities without fear when the communities remain safe from criminal elements.
He also urged the officers to reach out to him and other prominent sons and daughters of Ukwa West whenever support becomes necessary, emphasizing that Ukwa people are peace-loving, hardworking, and responsible citizens committed to the development of their place, and Abia State in general.

Responding on behalf of the Abia Vigilante Service personnel, the Zonal Director, Mr. Raph Nwawo, expressed appreciation to Pastor Adiele for identifying with the security outfit and pledged that members would redouble their efforts to ensure the continued protection of lives and property in the communities in Ukwa.
Among those present at the meeting were the Traditional Prime Minister of Asa North, Chief Chibuike Uruakpa, and Omuma Uzor village head, Chief John Ajuzieogu.
