Some constituents of Ukwa West Local Government Area in Abia State, have hailed the member representing Ukwa West State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Godwin Anyamagiobi Adiele, for choosing to be judged by his performance over two terms in office rather than seeking a third term.
In the various Ukwa West Whatsapp platforms monitored by Newsportal, the constituents described Adiele’s decision as a show of statesmanship and strong discipline, stressing that it was a rarity for a Nigerian policitian to voluntarily give up power. They, however, noted that his contributions have had a significant impact across the constituency.
According to them, the lawmaker’s achievements range from scholarship awards at University levels, payment of school fees for indigent children, securing of employment for constituents, empowerment schemes to infrastructural developments.
They mentioned that the Honourable member constructed a borehole at Owo Ala village, modern market at Obehie, a four-classroom block at Obuzor, renovated a a-five-classroom block at Obokwe secondary school, donated vehicles and motorcycles to increase the earnings of some constituents, and assisted more than 10 persons with N1 million each.
The constituents also outlined other achievements as the opening up of a new road from the Aba – Port Harcourt expressway to Obiakpu community, on-going civic centre at Obokwe, regular financial assistance to constituents, including a recent financial of 21 constituents with N400,000:00 each.

On his core responsibility as a lawmaker, the constituents said Adiele has distinguished himself, citing some motions he moved on the floor of the Abia State House of Assembly.
According to them, he sponsored bills for the domiciliation and implementation of the local content law, establishment of the Abia State Oil and Gas Policy Centre, and establishment of Abia State Flood Insurance Policy Programme. They said he also moved a motion addressing the welfare of workers at the Inner Galaxy, and death of one Miss Ocheze at the company, killing of one Nwamaka at Ugwati, leading to the employment of his spouse and building of a house for her by the Abia State Government, among many others.
They stated that Adiele has done very well as a legislator, and would not have been surprised if he had sought the ticket of Labour Party for a third tenure.
