Esther Ogechika Nworgu from Umuaka Community in the Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State on Wednesday made Nigeria proud by winning a Silver medal at the ongoing Paralympics tournament in Paris, France.
Celebrating her victory, Nworgu, in a WhatsApp platform wrote:
“With broken shoulder bone and ruptured tendons and ligaments as confirmed by these white doctors, I was advised not to try to avoid further complications; but something in me kept telling me that there’s gonna be joy at the end.
“My people, God proved Himself today. I fought like a wounded Lioness, with pains I roared to victory.
“The tears were of pain and joy, I thank God Almighty for a battle fought and Victory won.”
Nworgu’s victory earned Nigeria a second medal at the Paralympics.
