ADU Passes Vote Of Confidence On Gov Otti’s Administration After Motion Moved By Former Abia Commissioner, Don Ubani

The Asa Development Union, ADU, the apex socio-cultural organisation in the Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State penultimate Saturday at the Chyvik Model Secondary School, Obehie, Asa, passed a vote of confidence on the Abia Government led by Dr. Alex Chioma Otti.

The motion for the vote of confidence, which was moved by former Abia State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Sir Don Ubani, and seconded by former Deputy Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ngozi Ulunwa, was put to voice vote by the member representing Ukwa West State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Godwin Anyamagiobi Adiele and the Assembly chorused in the affirmative.

While moving the motion, the former Information Commissioner recalled the speed with which officials of the Abia State Government handled the collapse of a three-storey building in the Obingwu Community in Ukwa West after a distress call was made to them. He also noted with satisfaction that the death of one Miss Ocheze Ogbonna, from Umuahala in Ukwa West at the Inner Galaxy Steel Company, received the necessary attention the incident demanded.

Among dignitaries present during the General Consultative Assembly were the State Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Philemon Ogbonna, the Mayor, Ukwa West LGA, Mr. Newman Azu, a former Secretary to the Abia State Government, Pastor Ralph Egbu and a former Commissioner for Petroleum, Chief Stanley I. Eche.
