The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has restored the status of Abia State University, Uturu (ABSU) as a Computer Based Test (CBT) Centre for its University Matriculation examinations.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Onyemachi Ogbulu, broke the news during the 268th Regular meeting of the University Senate. He revealed that his administration was making efforts to upgrade the E-Library with more computers, CCTV cameras, and uninterrupted power supply, to position the centre as a topmost CBT Centre in the South East for UTME and other examinations.
He informed the Senate that the approval to restore the CBT centre of the University is as a result of successive compliance of the administration to JAMB rules and regulations in admission over the years.
The Vice-Chancellor further announced that there were still vacancies for admission into some courses of study in the University for the 2023/2024 academic session, and urged qualified prospective students seeking admission into the Abia State University to apply into those areas before the closure of the admission portal.
