The Special Adviser to the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Willie Etim Willie, on Saturday, bagged a doctorate degree in Marketing Communication from the Rivers State University, Port Harcourt.
He studied Mass Communication at the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State, before he decided to specialise in Marketing Communication.
Willie Etim Willie (PhD), is a thoroughbred and multi-talented media professional with a core interest in journalism and specialty in Marketing Communications, Public Relations, Advertising and Branding.
He has 29 years experience in the mainstream media, and corporate organisations.
Willie worked in various capacities as a reporter, editor, project director, lecturer , media adviser and consultant.
He attended the prestigious Methodist Boys High School Oron and belong to the class of 1985. He sat for his First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) at the Methodist Primary Uboro-Oro Village in 1979 where he scored a merit grade.
Dr. Willie has meritoriously held many appointments in Bayelsa and Akwa Ibom states.
He lectures at the Department of Marketing, Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osura. He worked as a Project Director at Clearpoint Communications Ltd, Regional Editor, South-South, at The Authority Media Limited, Abuja between 2015 and 2019.
He was a Senior Correspondent at The Guardian Newspaper, Bayelsa State office, between 2003 and 2015 , Assistant News Editor, the Post Publishing Company in 2003.
Between 1996 and 1998, Dr. Willie served as Sub-editor and Production Editor ( Weekly), in The Garden City Sunray Limited in Port Harcourt Rivers State. He also served as Assistant Marketing Manager of the Sunray Publication Ltd.
Dr. Willie belongs to many professional organisations such as the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations ( NIPR), Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria ( ARCON), Nigerian Institute of Management ( NIM) and the Nigerian Union of Journalists ( NUJ).
Dr. Willie Etim Willie is an Akwa Ibom son from Uboro Village in Urue Offong-Oruko Local Government Area.
He is happily married with children.
