Abia born Paralympics Medalist, Miss Esther Ogechika Nworgu, has cried out for a motorised wheelchair to be bought for her to mark her birthday, which comes up November 29, 2023.
It should be recalled that Nworgu won eight gold medals at the Africa Paralympics Powerlifting Championship that held in Cairo, Egypt in 2022. She also won a silver medal during the World Paralympics Powerlifting Tournament at Dubai, United Arab Emirates, UAE, in 2023.
In her Facebook page, she displayed the motorised wheelchair that would facilitate movement for her, and wrote:
“On this my birthday wish of #850,000.00, I was advised by some of my concerned friends to open a WhatsApp group where donations will be made.
“We have six days to go!! Please if you find yourself in this WhatsApp group, it means you’re so dear to me and I believe with you; we can achieve this.
“If you also want to contribute to this happiness of mine, please kindly indicate in my inbox. Nothing is too small and I’ll forever be grateful to you.
“Special thanks to those who’s started contributing already, May God in His infinite mercy replenish wherever the money comes from.
“I know things are hard, but this kindness I’ll never forget in a hurry.”
