The Chairman of Newsportal Ltd, an online news media, Mr. ThankGod Ntaku has commended the governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti for nominating Mr. Philemon Asonye Ogbonna to serve as a Commissioner in the State.
It should be recalled that Philemon Asonye Ogbonna was among the 19 Commissioner nominees sent to the Abia State House of Assembly for screening by Dr. Alex Otti.
In a statement issued on Friday, Ntaku described the nomination of Ogbonna as one of the right decisions taken so far by the Governor Otti, stressing that he was confident that the nominee, who is Chartered Accountant, would bring his years of experience in both the public and private sectors of the Nigerian economy to bear positively on the administration of Abia State.
He said that Ogbonna, having been a teacher and in the service of a multinational oil company for twenty three uninterrupted years, would definitely contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of Abia State.
Ntaku expressed confidence in the ability, capacity, and doggedness of Ogbonna to surpass the deliverables expected of him by the Governor.
His statement reads in part:
“It is very certain that the nomination of Mr. Philemon Asonye Ogbonna by the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti was well thought out, and it shows that the Governor is determined to put the State back on the part of prosperity through the appointment of credible, focused and public spirited individuals.”
He prayed God to give the appointee the wisdom and courage to take decisions and embark on projects that would change the narratives in the State.
