The Chief Press Secretary to the Abia State Governor, Sir Onyebuchi Ememanka has disclosed that they gave the Abia State Governor-elect, Dr. Alex Otti a hard fight but he prevailed.
Writing on his Facebook page, Ememanka described Otti as a strong man, stressing that it takes lots of courage and determination to contest gubernatorial elections three consecutive times.
Hear him:
“You are a strong man and above all, its your time. The massive ululation across the state is pointer to the fact that it is indeed your time.
“Let’s be honest, it takes a lot to contest gubernatorial elections three consecutive times. Lots of money and of course, lots of courage and determination.
“For me, I had a job to do and I did it without fear nor favor. No regrets at all. Absolutely none.
We move!
“Please govern us well from May 29th.
“For starters, please do all you can to consolidate the peace and security that we all enjoy here.
“Peace and security are, in my view, the most crucial aspects of sustainable development because they make development easier.
“When there is no peace, when there is no security of lives and property, every other economic plan, no matter how beautiful, will fail.
“Government is a continuum. In areas we did well, build on them. Where we made mistakes, correct them and do better for our state.
“Remember Sir, that at most, you will have 8 years. Time moves very fast. So you must start immediately.
“From all indications, no one will take you to court. I believe so.
This will give you ample opportunity to face the business of governance squarely with little or no distractions.
“I bid you God’s speed and blessings. I wish you good health and vitality. You need them. Yes, you do. May sickness be far from you. This is a very important prayer.
“I sincerely pray that you succeed as Governor. If you do, we all do.
“May Abia do better under your watch. May God bless Abia State”.
