The Abia State All Progressives Congress, APC, Governorship candidate in the forthcoming general elections, High Chief Ikechi Emenike, has disclosed that low budgeting was one of the reasons the State has yet to be developed.

Emenike, who disclosed during an interaction with Abia-based media practitioners and the official unveiling of his Manifesto, was reacting to a question on what he thought was the most significant challenge facing the State.

The Governorship hopeful said that his first budget would be between 200 to 300 billion Naira, stressing that the volume of money available determines the volume of work that can be done.

He assured that job creation would be accorded priority by his government, insisting that he is the only governorship candidate with a blueprint for developing the State.

Reacting to a question on his being inaccessible, he said he was the only candidate that would sit with teenagers in Abia to discuss the way forward, pointing out that those who accuse him of not been accessible are rumour mongers.

“If you ever purchase a form to run for governorship or any position, that is when you’ll hear the story of your generation. Most of those saying bad things about me may not be able to identify me in a crowd. What they say is not true and it is aimed at fault finding; however, am happy that none of my accusers has ever described me as a thief or related me to the backwardness in Abia State”, he said.
