Abia: Coalition Reacts To Radio Interview By Federal Lawmaker, Insists On Recall

Amidst Pressure For Recall, PDP Passes Vote Of Confidence On House Member in Abia State
Hon. Uzoma Nkem Abonta

The Coalition For Ukwa Leadership Accountability, COFULA, a non-political organisation, has stated that the comments made by the member representing the Ukwa East / Ukwa West Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Uzoma Nkem Abonta, during an interview by a popular Abia Radio Station has strengthened its resolve to recall the Legislator from the House.

In a statement signed by the Spokespersons of the organisation, Dr. Babantah Cyril Babantah and Comrade Chinenye Ukaegbu, they said the Honourable member could not point out any tangible thing he had done for his Constituency in the last 15 years.

The statement reads in part, “A critical analysis of the questions posed to him and his responses has further strengthened our resolve to bring him back and also vindicated the great people of Ukwa.

“Hon Abonta in his characteristic arrogance and pride could not point out any tangible thing done for his constituency over the last 15 years.

“Abonta in his diatribe said even to the consternation of his fake support and political base that the only project he carried out in 15 years in the parliament was to share a largesse of #100,000 each to 120 pfersons at Obehie”.

The Coalition, in concluding its statement, said, “while we wait for him to do a media tour of projects he claimed to have attracted and executed in Ukwa, we passionately ask him to come the aid of his 27 PDP executives in Ukwa – East LGA that are still finding difficult to share the 3 bags of rice he gave to them as Christmas Gift last month, December 2021”.

  1. Very shameful and unfortunate that lawmakers are liesmakers. I was waiting to here him name those fake names his media director displayed in defense of him.
I am sorry for you, Abonta.
