The attention of the Abia State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been drawn to a statement credited to Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, in a Labour Party organized event in Isuikwuato, in which he allegedly declared that despite being a member of the APC, he would support the Labour Party to win the Abia governorship election in 2027.
While the party is not entirely surprised by such reckless and irresponsible remarks, the Abia APC unequivocally dissociates itself and all its members from this unacceptable conduct. The statement credited to Dr. Ogah does not in any way reflect the position, ideals, or aspirations of the APC in Abia State.
For some time, the party had reasons to believe that Dr. Ogah was operating as a mole within our ranks. This informed the decision taken a few days ago to suspend him from all party communication platforms, including official WhatsApp groups and chatrooms.
The APC in Abia today is united, focused, and resolute under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu. The party is firmly committed to winning elections across the board from the Presidential and National Assembly to the Governorship and State Assembly come 2027. As such, we cannot and will not harbor individuals whose actions undermine the party’s collective goals.
We strongly condemn the irresponsible and unfortunate anti-party posture for which Dr. Ogah appears to have become notorious. Consequently, the party will immediately activate its disciplinary mechanisms to thoroughly investigate the matter and recommend the most appropriate sanctions.
The Abia APC therefore urges all party faithful and the good people of Abia State to disregard this act of political sabotage. Let it be clearly stated that the APC, as presently constituted, will not tolerate moles, saboteurs, or individuals whose only path to political relevance is through acts that weaken the party from within.
The APC remains steadfast, united, and fully prepared to take over the seat of power, restore sanity in governance and return the Abia State Government House from Nvosi to Umuahia, the state capital.
Uche Aguoru,
Publicity Secretary,
