The newly elected Ward Chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State held their inaugural meeting on Wednesday at the country home of the party’s Local Government Chairman in Umuaka.
Addressing the gathering, the APC Chairman of Ukwa West LGA, Comrade Ihechinyere Success Enyinna, urged the Ward Chairmen to demonstrate greater commitment and dedication to the party, especially in view of the responsibilities that now rest on their shoulders.
He emphasized that their assignments had already begun, noting that they were expected to immediately commence grassroots mobilisation and recruit more members into the party as part of efforts to strengthen the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Comrade Enyinna also stressed the importance of regular ward meetings, urging the chairmen to ensure consistent engagement with party members at the grassroots level to build unity and strengthen party structures across the local government area.
A major highlight of the meeting was the appointment of Mr. Donatus Uzoma Oguguo as the Chairman of the Ward Chairmen in Ukwa West LGA by the Local Government party chairman.
