NDDC Commissioner, Dimgba, Hosts Ukwa West APC, Distributes Rice Donated By Deputy Speaker, HoS To Mark New Year

The Commissioner representing Abia State on the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Chief Dr. Eruba Dimgba, on Saturday hosted stakeholders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Ukwa West Local Government Area at his country home in Umuaka, Asa, Abia State.

Welcoming party faithfuls, the NDDC Commissioner expressed deep appreciation for the massive turnout and urged members to remain steadfast, assuring them that the APC was well positioned for victory in future general elections.

According to him, the meeting was convened to distribute bags of rice donated by the Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu to APC members in Ukwa West. He noted that the Deputy Speaker expressed gratitude for the rousing reception accorded him during his last visit to the local government area.

The Commissioner disclosed that although the Deputy Speaker had initially provided bags of rice for Ukwa West APC members, he decided to increase the quantity to ensure that every party member benefited from the New Year gesture.

He further revealed that Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu had indicated interest in facilitating constituency projects for Ukwa West, emphasizing the need for the local APC leadership to actively follow up on the initiative.

Chief Dr. Eruba Dimgba noted that the APC had continued to record steady growth in Ukwa West, adding that if elections were conducted at present, the party would emerge victorious in the local government area.

Several APC dignitaries, including Hon. Tony Mezie Nwubani, Chief Sylvanus Nwaji, and Chief Okey Kanu, took turns to commend Chief Dimgba for organizing the event and appreciated Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu for his efforts in strengthening the party across Abia State.

Also speaking during the occasion, the President General of the Asa Development Union, (ADU), Elder Goodluck Nwanneakolam Nwuju, reminded the attendees that the union had endorsed the position that an Asa indigene should represent Ukwa East/Ukwa West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives in 2027.

A solemn moment during the gathering was the observance of a one-minute silence in honour of Comrade Solomon Nwoko, an aide to the NDDC Commissioner, who passed away recently.

The event, anchored by Chief Emeka Nwoha (Emetumba), was attended by several stakeholders, including: the Chairman, Ukwa West APC, Elder Kenneth Uju Nwarie, Coordinator, Renewed Hope Partners, Ukwa West chapter, Hon. Ezedinachi Kanu, Assistant Secretary, Abia State APC, Engr. Sterling Uruakpa, Abia South APC Women Leader, Mrs Anthonia Moses Enyioko, former Ukwa West Chairmen: Surveyor Goodluck Nwaobiwe and Chief Okey Kanu, former Sole Administraror, Abia State Oil Mineral Producing Areas Development Commission, (ASOPADEC), Barrister Henry Chilaka, Barrister Sam Ogbonna, Sir Bright Agu, former Commissioner, Oil Mineral Producing Areas Development Commission, (OMPADEC), Sir Esiaba Iwezor and Hon. Okechi Chigbu.
