2027: Former Ukwa West Mayor Newman Azu Mobilises LP Members, Followers, Friends In Ogwe Ward For Abia Governor Alex Otti

Former Mayor of Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State, Mr. Newman Azu, has called on Labour Party (LP) members, his followers and friends in Ogwe Ward to give massive support to Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Azu made the call on Sunday at his country home in Ogwe, Ukwa West Local Government Area, while addressing his followers, supporters and LP members in Ogwe Ward, highlighting the developmental strides recorded by the Otti administration across Abia State.

According to him, Governor Alex Otti’s achievements deserve support beyond party lines, urging residents to ensure they have their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ready ahead of the next election.

The former Ukwa West mayor expressed confidence that Governor Otti would do more for the people of Ukwa West if re-elected, adding that though he was no more in government, he would continue to listen to and respond to the concerns of the people in Ogwe Ward and beyond.

Azu also dismissed reports that he was angry with the Labour Party following the outcome of the party’s primary elections, which did not favour him.

He explained that his continued commitment to the LP is driven by his respect for and confidence in some of the party’s distinguished personalities.

The mobilisation attracted a large gathering of supporters, including the Ukwa West Labour Party Women Leader, the Abia Arise Coordinator for Ogwe Ward and the Abia Arise Women Leader for Ogwe Ward.
