ADU Calls On All House Of Representatives Candidates For Ukwa East/West Constituency To Embrace Responsible, Violence-free Campaigns

As the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) flags off campaigns for Presidential and National Assembly Elections today, 19th August 2026, the President General of Asa Development Union (ADU), *Elder Goodluck Nwanneakolam Nwuju,* addresses all contestants across political parties in Asa, Ukwa West LGA.

This moment is critical for Asa land. After years of collective pursuit of the *Asa Agenda*, we are now at the threshold of political realization. The eyes of Nde Ukwa, Abia State, and Nigeria are on us.

ADU therefore charges all our sons and daughters contesting for the *House of Representatives* seat to conduct their campaigns with the highest sense of responsibility, maturity, and love for Asa.

*OUR POSITION:*

1. *Peace First*: Asa land must remain peaceful before, during, and after elections. No political ambition is worth the blood of one Asa son or daughter. We reject thuggery, hate speech, intimidation, and destruction of property in all forms.

2. *Issue-Based Campaigns*: Let us debate ideas, not insults. Let us sell our capacity, vision for development, and commitment to consolidate the Asa Agenda into tangible growth. Campaigns should focus on roads, jobs, education, health, youth empowerment, and attracting development to Asa land.

3. *Unity Above Party*: While we belong to different political parties, we are first and foremost Asa people. After elections, we must still live together as brothers and sisters. Do not set our communities against each other.

4. *Respect for Institutions and Elders*: Respect INEC, Security Agencies, Traditional Rulers, Leaders and Community Structures. They are partners in ensuring a credible process.

*OUR PLEDGE:*

As ADU Officials, we will remain neutral. We will not endorse any candidate or party. Our role is to ensure that Asa wins, irrespective of who emerges. We will work with all stakeholders to guarantee a peaceful campaign season and credible elections.

To our Youths: You are the future of Asa. Do not allow yourselves to be used to foment trouble. Be ambassadors of peace.

To our Contestants: History is watching. Let your campaign style be one that your children will be proud of. Let us prove to Nigeria that Asa people are politically mature and development-focused.

As our 2027 Asa Day theme declares: *”From Agenda to Action: Building Greater Future through Purposeful Leadership, Unity and Sustainable Cultural Heritage.”*

Let the campaigns begin with unity, and let development be the ultimate prize.

_God bless Asa Land_
_God bless Ukwa West LGA_
_God bless Abia State_
_God bless Nigeria_

Signed
For: The President General

*Sir Boniface U. Nwaigwe*
