The Crème de la Crème of Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State, on Friday, converged on the country home of the prominent Ukwa West Traditional Prime Minister, Dr. Uche Nwele, in Owaza, Asa, to pay their last respects to his late wife, Lolo Ibierebo Patience Nwele.
The burial ceremony began with a solemn church service at the Anglican Church, Owaza, after which sympathisers from different walks of life proceeded to the Nwele family compound, where the remains of the deceased were laid to rest.
The ceremony attracted an array of dignitaries, including traditional rulers, members of the clergy, prominent politicians, women leaders, government officials and other stakeholders from across Ukwa West and beyond.
Among those in attendance were the Chairman, Ukwa West Council of Traditional Rulers, HRH Eze Chinyere Dike; President General of Asa Development Union (ADU), Elder Goodluck Nwanneakolam Nwuju; President, Ezumezu Ozaa, Chief Lazarus Enwereuzor; Secretary General, ADU, Sir Boniface Nwaigwe; Commissioner representing Abia State on the Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Eruba Dimgba; Abia State Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Philemon Asonye Ogbonna; Executive Chairman, Ukwa West Local Government Area, Pastor Dike Briggs Nwankwo; former Chief Whip of the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Mezie Nwubani and former ASOPADEC Chairman and APC flag bearer for the Ukwa East/Ukwa West Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections, Chief Samuel Okezie Nwogu, Esq.
Others included the Senatorial Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Kasarachi Enyinnah; Ukwa East/Ukwa West candidate of the Labour Party, Engr. Adinigwe Nwoke; Ukwa West State Constituency candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Sylvanus Nwaji; Labour Party candidate for Ukwa West State Constituency, Surveyor Joshua Ahukanna; APC chieftain, Chief Dominic Oforji, Abia Arise Coordinator for Ukwa West, Hon. Ndukauba Adiele; as well as numerous other political, traditional, religious and community leaders.
