Abia State Commissioner for Sports, Sir Nwaobilor Ananaba has commended Miss Esther Ogechika Nworgu for winning a Gold Medal at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
The Commissioner, who gave the commendation while receiving the Gold Medalist, described her as a true ambassador whose commitment has brought pride to Abia State and the nation.
He used the opportunity to reaffirm the commitment of the Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Ottti to creating an enabling environment for athletes to thrive.
Nworgu won a medal during a Paralympics competition in Paris, France, a gold medal at the 2023 National Para Games in Abuja, secured gold medals at the 2022 Africa Paralympic Powerlifting Championship in Cairo, Egypt, and earned a silver medal at the 2023 World Paralympic Powerlifting Tournament in Dubai in 2023.
