The Abia State Government has cancelled April’s environmental sanitation.
In a press release signed by the Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Philemon Ogbonna, dated April 24, 2025, the clean up exercise scheduled for April.26, 2025, was cancelled to enable candidates participating in the United Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), conducted by the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board, (JAMB), to freely access their examination centres without restriction.
According to the press release, Abia residents are, however, strongly encouraged to take personal responsibility in cleaning their homes, surroundings, gutters andnd the gutters and drainage systems closest to them.
