Excitement and palpable joy have enveloped the Owaza Community in Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State, following the Grand Civic Reception of four Abia illustrious sons that is two days away.
The Owaza Community Development Association, OCDA, has fixed Saturday, November 30, 2024 to honour the member representing Ukwa West State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Godwin Anyamagiobi Adiele, Abia State Environment Commissioner, Mr. Philemon Asonye Ogbonna, Abia State representative on the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Chief Eruba Dimgba and the newly elected Mayor of Ukwa West and former DG, Abia State Orientation Agency, ABSOA, Pastor Dike Nwankwo.
Speaking with Newsportal, the Chairman of the Central Planning Committee of the Grand Civic Reception, Mr. Dennis Nwankwoji said their community has been literally electrified, as such event has not been held in the community for a long time.
“All the four autonomous communities that make up the Owaza larger Community are looking forward to the Grand Civic Reception with excitement.
“Many of my people are happy because the forthcoming programme will attract many dignitaries from different parts of the State”, he said.
Also speaking with us, a prominent son of the Owaza Community, Dr. Lucky Eleogu, said all roads in Ukwa West will lead to his community on Saturday, adding that the majority of Owaza sons and daughters are in a joyous mood because of the event.
On the honorees, he said they are sons of Ukwa land that have shown great commitment to the goals and aspirations of the area, stressing that it was important to recognise the positive contributions of those holding public offices in order to encourage others.
