Owaza Community Development Association Set To Honour Three Abia Illustrious Sons

The Owaza Community Development Association, OCDA, in Ukwa West Local Government Area, is set to honour three sons of Abia State, during a Grand Civic Reception to be held at the Owaza Central School Playground, for having distinguished themselves in the public service.

The three Abia sons, who hail from Ukwa West, are the Abia State Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Philemon Asonye Ogbonna; Commissioner representing Abia State on the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Chief Eruba Dimgba and former Director General, Abia State Orientation Agency, ABSOA and current Executive Chairman of Ukwa West Local Government Area, Pastor Dike Briggs Nwankwo.

According to a statement dated November 25, 2024 and signed by the Chairman of the Central Planning Committee of the Grand Civic Reception, Mr. Dennis Nwankwoji, the event was planned to recognise the sons of Ukwa West, who have shown capacity in the discharge of their public functions, and great commitment towards the growth and development of Ukwa land.

He further said the OCDA was keen on encouraging high level performance, adding that it was confident that the gesture would motivate all those in government from its area to deliver on their mandates.

The Grand Civic Reception, which will hold under the distinguished chairmanship of a Port Harcourt-based Business Development expert, Engr. Adinigwe Nwoke, is scheduled for Saturday, November 30, 2024.
