The Commissioner for Environment in Abia State, Mr. Philemon Asonye Ogbonna, has congratulated Miss Esther Ogechika Nworgu for clinching a Silver medal at the ongoing Paralympics in Paris, France.
Ogbonna, who said he was excited that the Abia-born Paralympian had made Nigeria proud, expressed confidence in the ability of the average Nigerian to excel in every aspect of human endeavour.
In a statement dated September 4, 2024, the Commissioner said the achievement of Nworgu was not a mean feat, particularly as she triumphed in spite of a broken shoulder bone, ruptured tendons and ligaments.
He commended the Paralympian for looking beyond all the odds she faced, and focused on the victory that was to follow.
Ogbonna also called on the youths of Abia State to always have at the back of their minds that hardwork, dedication and commitment to goals and aspirations pays.
