The Mayor of Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State, Mr. Newman Azu, on Tuesday, flagged off the massive renovation of the buildings and reconstruction of the roads is the local government secretariat.
Speaking during the ceremony, Azu made a commitment that the projects would be completed within the shortest time possible, adding works have also commenced on the perimeter fencing of the secretariat.
He disclosed that his drive to give the local government headquarters a facelift was in line with the commitment of Governor Alex Otti to create a better conducive environment for both staff members and visitors.
Among those that accompanied the Mayor to perform the ceremony were; the Head of Service of Ukwa West LGA, Prince Azubuike Iroegbu, Director of Finance, Elder Emesue Festus, Head of Department, Works, Transition Committee Councilors and the NULGE Acting Chairman Comrade Obinna Akubeeze.
