Some members of the Labour Party, LP, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, All Peoples Party, APP, and All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, on Monday, at the Obuzor Ward in the Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State defected into the All Peoples Congress, APC.
Receiving the defectors, one of the leaders of the APC, Chief Sylvanus Nwaji, charged them to be fishers of men and women and assured of equal treatment and opportunity. He encouraged members of the party to be resolute, dedicated and faithful as the APC government at the center, led by the President, Ahmed Bola Tinubu was working assiduously to fix the country.
Nwaji, who stressed that Mr President inherited much responsibilities which require sometime to tackle, assured the party members of his financial and moral support at all times.
Also speaking, the State Treasurer of APC, Chief Nwogu N. Nwogu expressed joy for the number of members of the party he saw and expressed optimism that APC would record hundred percent victory in the Obuzor Ward in subsequent elections.
Also speaking, Chief Barrister Sam Ogbonna assured the party faithfuls that there would be light at the end of the tunnel and encouraged them to exhibit high sense of patriotism, dedication, sincerity and loyalty to the party, adding that such attributes were the necessary panacea for success during elections.
He made a commitment to always identify with their challenges at all times.
Some of the defectors, who spoke included, Chimezie Nlewedim, Osorgu Nwankwo, Chilaka Alozie among others, pledged their loyalty to the party and promised to work assiduously to ensure victory for the APC in future elections.
The meeting which had over seventy (70) members in attendance attracted other political stalwarts in the persons of Azuonwu Alozie, Chief Temple Nwachukwu, Loveday Nwogu, Onyemachi Egejuru, Chief Jessy Nwarie, the Ward Chairman, Promise Nwuka, Secretary, George Anyaorgu, the Women Leader and other Members of the Ward Executive.
