The Niger Delta Development Commission, (NDDC), has reiterated its dedication to foster the growth of local engineers in the Niger Delta Region.

This was underscored at the 2024 International Conference on Engineering Practice for National Economic Development and Environmental Sustainability, hosted by the Faculty of Engineering, Rivers State University.

The Executive Director Projects, NDDC, Sir Victor Antai, who represented the Managing Director/CEO Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, at the conference, emphasized the Commission’s commitment to equipping local engineers with cutting-edge skills across various engineering disciplines.

He highlighted the NDDC’s recent achievements, such as the commissioning of roads and electrical projects managed by local contractors and engineers. These initiatives, he noted, exemplify the high standard and excellence that local professionals achieve.

In his closing remarks, Antai revealed a significant upcoming initiative by Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, who has pledged to establish an engineering hub at Rivers State University. This hub aims to provide advanced training and specialized skills for graduate engineers and students to build their capacity as they contribute to national development and environmental sustainability.
