The Director General of the Abia State Orientation Agency, ABSOA, Pastor Dike Nwankwo, has enjoined Abia residents, especially the youths in various higher institutions to shun cultism and abstain from drug addiction.

It should be recalled that a final year student of the Abia State University was recently shot to death in broad daylight by some yet-to-be identified cultists.

In a press release on Wednesday, Nwankwo, thanked the Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti for his prompt intervention in the ugly cult clash at the Abia State University, which restored calmness to the institution.

Nwankwo, who recalled the sensitization on Anti-cultism and Drug Addiction organised by his Agency in December 2023, stated that the essence was to curb the menace of drug addiction and cultism among youths of the State, adding that the unruly practices were destructive.

He said that the reorientation and mind-shift initiative campaign embarked upon by his Agency would be sustained, noting that it’s impact was already being felt.
