The family of late Nze Paul Ogbonna (Palogbo) has announced that the remains of their father would be interred on December 29, 2023.
In a statement released by the Chief Mourner of the family, McOzuru Paul Ogbonna on November 29, 2023, late Ogbonna would be interred at his country home at Obahu, Asa in the Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State.
Late Paul Onyemachi Ogbonna, popularly known as Palogbo, was born on December 29, 1938, into the family of Ebulu and Ogbolo Ogbonna of Obahu village in Ukwa West LGA, Abia State.
He attended St. Cyprian Primary School in Port Harcourt, and proceeded to the Institute of Technical Education, Oron, Akwa Ibom State to acquire technical education in Building engineering (Furniture and Wood Work), and graduated in 1962.
Late Ogbonna later established Palogbo furniture company Ltd in Aba in1965. The furniture company flourished very well that it became a household name in then South Eastern Nigeria.
He furnished the first civilian Governor’s office of the then Imo single handed, and facilitated the reequipping of Asa High School through the donation of furniture for staff members and students.
He was among the front runners for the creation of the present Abia State, and was the Executive National Vice Chairman of that movement.
It is on record that he was the first individual in Ukwa West to provide electricity for his community. Obahu, Asa, Ukwa LGA, Abia State.
The late Nze Palogbo was a source of inspiration for many, and involved in positive activities that contributed greatly to the growth and development of his immediate community and beyond.
