The Abia State Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Philemon Ogbonna, has called for the continued cooperation of the host communities of the Abia State Industrial Innovation Park.
The Commissioner, who made the call on Saturday, while paying Homage to the host communities, expressed the commitment of the Abia State Government led by Dr. Alex Otti, to the speedy actualisation of the Industrial Park.
Ogbonna thanked the host communities comprising Uzuaku, Okohia and Umuololo, in Owaza, for their cooperation, understanding, and the unity of purpose exhibited by them since the inception of the project, stressing that it was a delight that no negative reaction has been noticed since the project started.
He disclosed that immediately after the homage, the next thing would be enumeration and compensation, adding that Governor Otti, being a man who believes so much in transparency and due process, would ensure that the Abia State Industrial Park is executed to the satisfaction of critical stakeholders.
Speaking, the Traditional Ruler of Okohia Community, HRH. Eze Godwin C. Ukanna, thanked Governor Otti for siting the Industrial Park in Ukwa West, noting that it was a display of the love he has for people. He added that they were partners in progress with the Abia State government.
He said, “the project is ours. We will protect it, for we believe that it will engage our jobless youths, and remove their eyes from the temptation of engaging in illegal bunkering.”
While the Traditional Prime Minister of Uzuaku Community, Chief Paulson Elijah, in his own remarks, said their Community of four kindreds have trust in the government of Dr. Alex Otti to deliver on his commitment to develop Abia State, the paramount Chief of Umuololo, Owaza, Chief Chukwuemeka Ezekiel, pledged the cooperation of his Community to the success of the project.
Some of the Community Leaders present during the meeting with the Umuololo Community in Owaza were; Dr. Uche Nwele, Felix Nworgu, John Nwankwo, Ezekiel Adiele Chigbundu, Ikechukwu Nwagwu and Okezie Samuel.
At the meeting with the Okohia Community were; Chief Adiele Nwogu, Nnah Sunny Okike, Joseph Ukanna, Samuel Ubah Ogugua and Uche Nwankpa.
The Chairman of Uzuaku Community, Peter Elendu, Hon. Henry Nwankwo, Henry Amadi, Chief Ikechukwu Nwakanma, Godswill Anyasor, Adiele Ndukauba, were some of the Leaders present at the meeting with the Uzuaku Community.
