The Asa Development Union, the apex socio-cultural organisation in the Ukwa West Local Government Area, has hailed the Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, for appointing notable sons from the area into his government.
In a release after its meeting at Obehie on Saturday, signed by its Acting President General, Barrister G.O.C. Ihenkor and Secretary General, Sir Boniface Nwaigwe, the Union said it appreciated the Abia Governor for appointing Mr. Philemon Asonye Ogbonna as Commissioner for Environment and Urban Renewal, Ven. Dr. Joshua Onyeike as General Manager of the Abia State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (ASOPADEC) and Pastor Nwadike Nwankwo as Director General of Abia State Orientation Agency, (ABSOA).
The Union also praised Otti for completing, and commissioning a 1.2km road at Obehie, and for performing the ground-breaking ceremony of the Abia Industrial Innovation Park located in Ukwa West Local Government Area on the 30th of September, 2023.
In a related development, the Union expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the appointment of two of her sons – Chief Eruba Dimgba and Barrister Chinedum Elechi as the Commissioner representing Abia State on the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, and Secretary, Economic Planning, Revenue Generation and PPP in the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, respectively.
