The Abia State Commissioner for Environment and Urban Renewal, Mr. Philemon Ogbonna, has congratulated the member representing the Ukwa East/Ukwa West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Chief Chris Nkwonta for his emergence as the House Committee Chairman on Climate Change.
In a statement released on Saturday, Ogbonna said the government of Abia State led by Dr. Alex Otti looked forward to building synergies that will have positive impact on the environment of Abia State, particularly as it relates to climate change with the Federal Government.
The Commissioner also felicitated the other members of the House of Representatives from Abia State that emerged as Chairman of Committees.
It should be recalled that the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Ben Kalu emerged House Committee Chairman on Constitutional Review, Hon. Ginger Onwusibe House Committee Chairman on Financial Crimes, and Hon. Amobi Ogah, as Committee Chairman on HIV, Aids, Tuberculosis and Malaria Control.
The Commissioner urged the House members to make discipline, excellence and commitment to fatherland their watchwords.
