Former Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, has given his support to the South Eastern part of Nigeria to produce the president of Senate.
It has been reported that former governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, governor of Ebonyi State and Senator elect, Engr. Dave Umahi and Senator Osita Izunaso have shown interest in the number three seat in Nigeria.
Speaking in the Morning Show of an international television news channel, Arise News, on Monday, Ndoma-Egba pointed out that equity and fairness favour a Senator from the South East to be elected as the Senate President.
He also canvassed for the emergence of a Christian Senate president and a Christian Speaker of the House of Representatives, as according to him, the two most important positions of the National Assembly would balance the Executive government that has a Muslim president-elect and a Muslim vice president-elect.
The former Senator used the opportunity to debunk the rumours making the rounds that he has been pushing for the emergence of Dave Umahi as the Senate president.
