Pensioners in Abia State, under the umbrella of Concerned Abia Pensioners, on Thursday, wore exciting mood as they paid solidarity visit to the campaign office of the Abia Governor-Elect, Dr. Alex Otti.
The pensioners who had repeatedly protested the over 50 months unpaid pension arrears owed them turned out in white apparels against their usual black and black outfit.
Speaking, the pensioners who were received by the Campaign Secretary of the Alex Otti Campaign Council, Prince Okey Kanu, and led by their coordinator, Chief Emeka Okezie expressed confidence that Dr. Otti will fulfil his campaign promise of clearing the backlog of pension arrears owed the senior citizens by past and present administration.
“Today is a remarkable day in the lives of pensioners in Abia state because it has taken so long”
“Our earnest desire, happiness and love for coming to this gathering in the office of our governor-elect, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti; we are happy with him; he has addressed the issue of pension, he is a man of God, as he has said it, so shall it be” Okezie said.
They pledged to support Otti’s administration, stating that “we are going to cooperate with our governor elect.”
