Candidates of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the Abia South Senatorial District and Ukwa East/Ukwa West Federal Constituency, Hon. Dr. Blessing Nwagba and Barrister Nnadozie Okpokiri respectively, on Thursday, at the APC Secretariat at Obehie in Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State, held a pre-takeoff meeting with the party preparatory to the kick-off of their open campaigns for the 2023 general elections.
In his speech during the occasion, Okpokiri called for the support and cooperation of every member of the APC towards delivering all the candidates of the party.
Speaking, Nwagba said she would bring dividends of democracy to Ukwa if she is voted into the Senate.
In her words:
“I am one of you. I thank God that we are where we are today. Today, I have the opportunity to be your candidate for the Senate. We expect that you will take our messages to the various Wards.
“I am here to relate with you and present myself as your candidate. I will do town hall meetings with my constituents if I go to the Senate. I am promising you that I will always remember Ukwa if I go to the Senate. I understand the problems of our youths and to that extent will ensure that technology hubs are opened in Ukwa to empower them”.
To the Women, she said, “it is time for us to take up our responsibilities”.
The Director General of Barrister Okpokiri Campaign Council, Hon. Ezedinachi Kanu, former Commissioner in the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Chief Nwogu Nwogu, and the Coordinator, Ukwa West chapter of the Ikechi/Glory Campaign Council, Sir Rogers Nwachinyere thanked party members for their efforts so far, and urged them to canvass for votes for the APC.
