The candidate of the Action Peoples Party for the Ukwa West State Constituency in the 2023 general elections, Dr. Ik Ajuzieogu, has described the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP as an irredeemable leprosy in Abia State.

He added that the party has become a bad sale in the 2023 general elections as far as Abia State is concerned.

Dr. Ajuzieogu, who stated this in a popular WhatsApp platform of eminent sons and daughters Ukwa West Local Area, also queried how far the current political leadership in Ukwa West has gone in leveraging on the mandate of the Abia State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission and Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, the two interventionist Agencies that were created to serve the interest of the area.

He said:

“Government works by the driving force one brings to bear on his mandate. It entails strong persuasive power one deploys to prod the Executive to recognize the special place of Ukwa West LGA (Asa Land) in Political economy of Abia & Nigeria. Being the only oil & gas-producing area in Abia State, how has the political leadership in Asa leveraged on government interventionist agencies of NDDC & ASOPADEC and Ministry of Niger Affairs to better the lot Asa people?

“Of course, the present clueless political leadership doesn’t have what it takes to tap into these veritable opportunities offered by those governmental institutions.

“PDP in Abia State is a bad sale in 2023 General Election. It’s an irredeemable leprosy in Abia polity.”
