The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the Ukwa East/Ukwa West Federal Constituency in the 2023 general elections, Barrister Nnadozie Okpokiri has advised his teeming supporters to avoid use of hate speeches throughout the period of the campaigns.
It should be recalled that from the timetable of the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, for the elections, ban on open campaigns for the Presidential, Senatorial and House of Representatives will be lifted September, 28, 2022.
Okpokiri, who gave the advice on Monday at his country home at Owo Ala, Asa in the Ukwa West Local Government Area while speaking with some members of his Campaign Council, highlighted the need for his supporters to toe the line of civility during the open campaigns, stressing that it would not be good to sacrifice brotherly relationships on the altar of partisan politics.
He said the most important thing was for Ukwa to know that he had the sound academic qualifications, necessary exposure, contacts, and above all, the compassion and zeal to give the people effective representation at the National Assembly.
He also restated that his resolve to contest for an election position was borne out of the sincere commitment to lift Ukwa out of political irrelevance, adding that he was convinced he would deliver dividend of democracy to the people.
