The landscape of the Isiugwu Ohafia in the Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State will soon witness a pleasant change with the ground breaking ceremony of the Uma Ukpai prayer city which was performed on Friday.
Speaking during the ceremony, the Country Director of Habitat UCL in Nigeria, the contractor handling the $250 million church auditorium, Mr. Signor Kanu expressed happiness on the opportunity given to the company to showcase the Italian world class touch in a project dedicated to God.
Kanu, who is also the Abia South Senatorial Candidate of the Action Peoples Party, APP, in the 2023 general elections, stated that the Uma Ukpai Prayer City would be a centre for pilgrimage when it is completed, adding that economic activities in Abia in general and Abia North in particular would be boosted.
In his speech, Rev.Dr Uma Ukpai stated that the construction of the Prayer City was a commitment he made to God, adding that it was an integral part of Greater Ohafia for Christ project.
The International prayer city which is projected to be the largest in the world comprises not only a 120,000 capacity auditorium, 100 Rooms Hotel, Clinic, Library, Restaurant, but also three helipads, a petrol station, event centre, offices and diverse parking slots.
The construction of the Uma Ukpai Prayer City, which will commence immediately is said to be the largest single project carried out by the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association. It is expected to be completed in 48 months.
The ground breaking ceremony had in attendance Great Men of God and Political Leaders who used the opportunity to express the good works of God in their life using Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai.
